Parent Letter 8.21.23

 

Hey Parents, 

I hope all of you students have made their way back into the rhythm of the school year well! Thank you so much for allowing your student to participate in our events designed to start this year off right. Whether it was Kick Ball, Year in Focus Meeting, our Pool Party, Soft Launch or Kick Off we have had a blast jumping into the new year with your students. 

I just wanted to send a quick message letting you know about a few things on the horizon as we move into our first "normal week" of the new ESM school year. That is right, this week we are finally back to our normal 6-8 PM gatherings on Wednesdays and we couldn't be more excited! 

This year, we have tried to get the word out about our Creative Discipleship Program. If you missed the memos or meetings do check out this blog to learn more about the program! If your student wants to participate I would highly encourage you to take the challenge with them! You can simply download a discipleship record sheet, or I can even set you up with a profile in the app we use to track that data (contact me about getting this set up if you are interested). Remember if your student wants to earn rewards like Free Camp they will need to use the Word of Life Quiet Time this year. Many of the Students already requested and received copies of physical Quiet Time journals or access to the online application. The new physical journals start this coming Sunday (Aug. 27), so if you want to get a copy for you or your student before then, please let me know and I will see what I can do to get you one by Sunday. 

At our Year in Focus meeting, we mentioned that we will be trying something new this summer in aiming to send a group of students to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters for an out-of-this-world summer camp experience! Registration is now open to sign up to attend with our group! To sign your student up simply click the link here and complete the form. We do ask that a student register with us and pay their $100 deposit by Sept. 20th to lock in their spot. Remember this is the camp that is booked up within 24 hours of registration opening up! So we are pushing for as many early registrations as possible!  

Also, we have church received word from Word of Life that Reverb is scheduled this year for Dec. 1st. So stay tuned for more information on that! We will likely start pushing sign-ups for that in late September!
