Lesson Summary: Tonight’s lesson was the first of a four-part series on apologetics called, “Asking for a Friend: Questions You are Allowed to Ask in Church.” We have communicated to your teen that the church is a safe place to ask hard questions. The lessons are designed to help your teen apologetically. The word “apologetics” simply means “a defense for the Christian faith using reason and evidence.” Over the course of this study, we will be answering tough questions that people have been asking for centuries.   Serving 101 Objective:  Students will understand the biblical principle of serving and will be encouraged to serve God by putting the needs of others before their own. Key Scripture: Matthew 20:28 Key Thought: Serve God by serving others. Lesson Summary: This lesson was the fourth in a four-part series called “101: Back to Basics.” Tonight, we went back to the basics of serving. We looked at four questions regarding serving: Why should we serve? To follow the example of Jesus, who was the perfect servant, and to glorify God Who should we serve? God and others How should we serve? With love, humility, and compassion Where should we serve? Everywhere, but especially in the local church We learned that Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28).   Prayer 101 Objective: Students will see the importance of prayer in their daily lives and will be challenged to develop a proper perspective of prayer. Key Scripture: Matthew 6:9-13 Key Thought: Personal prayer leads to praise and peace. Lesson Summary: This lesson was the third lesson in a four-part series called “101: Back to Basics.” Tonight, we studied the topic of prayer. This lesson helped your teen understand the model prayer from Matthew 6 and that praise and peace can come through prayer. Your teen was encouraged to develop a proper perspective of prayer beginning with a proper perspective of God the Father. Students were encouraged to bring their needs, worries, and anxieties to God in prayer and were challenged to spend some time throughout the day praising, thanking, and bringing their requests to God.   "Storytelling 101" Objective - Students will learn to share their stories of how they came to trust Jesus as Savior as a way to invite their friends to trust Christ.  Key Scripture - 1 Peter 3:15 Key Thought - Tell your story for His glory.  Lesson Summary - Tonight's lesson is the second lesson in a four-part series called "101: Back to Basics." The lesson helped your student understand that Scripture encourages the believer to share the story of how Jesus saved them (Psalm 107:2). They were encouraged to be prepared to share their testimonies and were given specific examples from the Bible of how others openly talked about Jesus. They were also encouraged to fill out a worksheet to help them be better prepared to share. Follow up with your students this week and see if they have had a chance to share their testimony with someone. If that does not seem to be an option or if the opportunity doesn't present itself, maybe you could practice sharing your
