Parent Connection - 6.6.21

"Storytelling 101"

Objective - Students will learn to share their stories of how they came to trust Jesus as Savior as a way to invite their friends to trust Christ.

Key Scripture - 1 Peter 3:15

Key Thought - Tell your story for His glory.

Lesson Summary - Tonight's lesson is the second lesson in a four-part series called "101: Back to Basics." The lesson helped your student understand that Scripture encourages the believer to share the story of how Jesus saved them (Psalm 107:2). They were encouraged to be prepared to share their testimonies and were given specific examples from the Bible of how others openly talked about Jesus. They were also encouraged to fill out a worksheet to help them be better prepared to share.

Follow up with your students this week and see if they have had a chance to share their testimony with someone. If that does not seem to be an option or if the opportunity doesn't present itself, maybe you could practice sharing your testimonies with one another. If you have trusted Jesus as your Savior, make a point to tell your story to your teen. If you have not trusted Christ as Savior, we would love to share with you how you can begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. Please contact someone from the youth group and we can talk about your story.
