Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 48

Dear Parents,

Hello! We are in week 48 of “The Thread,” and it has been quite a ride so far! Thank you so much for your continued involvement with your student through this 52-week study. This week we discussed unity and encouragement. We had some practical encouragement activities to go along with the Bible passages and discussion questions.

This week’s lesson was entitled “A Letter to the Hebrews.” The lesson’s purpose was for students to realize the power they have to influence others when they strive to live Christ-centered lives in a spirit of unity with other Christ-followers. Students understood that they have great capacity to encourage one another to live as Christ-followers in their daily lives, as well as the importance of unity as it pertains to living as Christ-followers at school, and in their worlds.

We looked at the following Scripture passages:
  • Hebrews 10: 19-25
  • Romans 15: 5-7

As you read these scriptures, consider the practical wisdom found in simply doing what it says daily. Also, let it remind you of the wonder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Next Steps . . .
During the week, set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your students:
·         How important is it to you to encourage other Christ followers? (Share your perspective too.)
·         How important is it for you to be encouraged by other Christ followers? (Share your thoughts too.)
·         What did you experience that taught you about unity?
·         Was there an activity in the lesson that really felt great participating in? Explain.

I hope this resource continues to be a useful tool for you and your student. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me.
