Parent Connection - 1.10.2021


Objective- Students will understand that Jesus is superior to all others and will be challenged to stand in awe of Him and express appreciation for Him daily.

Key Thought- There ain’t nobody like Him! Lesson Summary-

The lesson tonight was the fourth lesson in a four-part series called “Jesus: Prophet, Priest, King, Intercessor, Mediator, Man, Eternal God, Unchanging King, and So Much More Than You Ever Thought.” Throughout this series, we have been exploring who Jesus is. This week, your teen learned several truths about Jesus.

 

Jesus is…

 

  1. God – He is the eternal God.

  2. The Firstborn of Creation – Not “born first” but the preeminent One.

  3. The Creator – Not a created being but the Creator of all.

  4. The Sustainer – Not only the Creator but the One Who holds creation together.

  5. The Head of the Church – He is the top rank.

  6. The Firstborn from the Dead – The ruler over our greatest enemies: sin and death.

  7. The Fullness of God – He is 100% God (and 100% Man)!

  8. The Savior – He is the only One Who can save you from your sin and restore your relationship with God the Father.

Each of these truths is a reason to worship Him as Lord and King. Your teen was given a card with all of these on it and challenged to express his/her appreciation to Jesus each time he/she prays. Consider taking that challenge with your teen and pray together, expressing appreciation for Jesus!  Hey Parents,  Pastor Josiah here. First, thank you so much to all the parents who made it out to our Year-in-Focus Meeting yesterday! I think it was a valuable time for those in attendance but I know for various reasons some of you had to miss it.   Hey Parents,  I hope all of you students have made their way back into the rhythm of the school year well! Thank you so much for allowing your student to participate in our events designed to start this year off right. Whether it was Kick Ball, Year in Focus Meeting, our Pool Party, Soft Launch or Kick Off we have had a blast jumping into the new year with your students.  I just wanted to send a quick message letting you know about a few things on the horizon as we move into our first "normal week" of the new ESM school year. That is right, this week we are finally back to our normal 6-8 PM gatherings on Wednesdays and we couldn't be more excited!  This year, we have tried to get the word out about our Creative Discipleship Program.
