Objective: Students will gain an understanding of basic spiritual disciplines and some ideas on how to begin their own plan for spiritual growth using Word of Life’s Creative Discipleship program. Lesson Summary: Our lesson tonight is part of a series called “Game Plan: A Strategy for Spiritual Growth.” This lesson was specifically about spiritual growth and building spiritual strength. This week we introduced the students to the Creative Discipleship Program that has been developed by Word of Life to help students develop spiritual strength. The students were encouraged to make a plan for spiritual growth and to use the parts of the Creative Discipleship Program to help with that plan. The Creative Discipleship Program highlights seven different areas that should be part of the spiritual growth plan of every follower of Jesus. They are: Attendance to a local church (Hebrews 1

Knowing Jesus as God Objective: Students will understand the deity of Christ as found in Scripture and see the need to give Him the reverence He deserves. Key Verse: John 10:30 Key Thought: Jesus is not just good, He’s God. Lesson Summary: Tonight, we began a series called “Knowing Jesus: God, Messiah, Creator, Friend.” The focus of the lesson was on the claim that Jesus is God. We presented a clear case from the works of Jesus and the words of Jesus that He was not just a good person but is God. In fact, we argued that it was not possible for Jesus to be good if He was not God. To claim to be God when it is not true, makes the person a liar and eliminates the possibility of goodness. Batter Up Objective - Students will learn how to do an effective quiet time which will assist in their personal spiritual growth. Spending time in God’s Word is essential for our spiritual growth. In fact, if your way is going to be prosperous, and if you are going to be successful, you will need to meditate on God’s Word every day.
