WHAT'S YOUR PLAN?
Objective: Students will
gain an understanding of basic spiritual disciplines and some ideas on how to
begin their own plan for spiritual growth using Word of Life’s Creative
Discipleship program.
Key Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:7-8
Key Thought: What’s your plan?
Lesson Summary:
Our lesson tonight is part of a series called “Game Plan: A Strategy for Spiritual Growth.” This lesson was
specifically about spiritual growth and building spiritual strength.
This week we
introduced the students to the Creative Discipleship Program that has been
developed by Word of Life to help students develop spiritual strength. The
students were encouraged to make a plan for spiritual growth and to use the
parts of the Creative Discipleship Program to help with that plan. The Creative
Discipleship Program highlights seven different areas that should be part of
the spiritual growth plan of every follower of Jesus. They are: Attendance to a
local church (Hebrews 10:24-25), Quiet Time (1 Peter 2:2), Scripture Memory
(Psalm 119:11), Service to Others (Matthew 22:37-39), Reading Books, Bringing
Friends (John 1:41-42), and Gospel Conversations (Acts 1:8).
Each of these disciplines can be tracked with Word of Life’s Creative
Discipleship Program. Your student has the opportunity to earn a free week of
summer camp or Snow Camp or Pursuit Camp, a free ticket to a Reverb event, and
a $500 scholarship to the Word of Life Bible Institute by participating in the
Creative Discipleship Program. Be sure to connect with your youth leaders to
learn how your student could use this program to begin developing a plan for
spiritual strength.
