Creative Discipleship Challenge Details

Hey Parents! Thanks to our partnership with Word of Life we are excited to announce that students will again be invited to participate in our Creative Discipleship Challenge (CDC) this year.

Those who complete the CDC are awarded the following:

  • A Free Word of Life Camping Experience
  • A Free Tickey to a night of Reverb with WOL the following year
  • Scholarship to Various Christian Universities (for details click here)

We love this challenge because it provides a great structure to encourage students in the spiritual disciplines God encourages all of his children to grow in. 1 Timothy 4:7 says, "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” We want to champion students getting serious about that journey.

The goal is to focus students to develop habits of spiritual discipline in two key areas, growing their faith and sharing their faith. Each of these two areas has four spiritual disciplines connected to it:

Grow their faith

    • Youth Group Attendance
    • Quiet Time
    • Scripture Memory
    • Read a Book
Share their faith

    • Service
    • Bring a Friend
    • Gospel Conversations
    • Follow-up (Mobilize)

Here are the basics of the challenge:

To complete the challenge students must earn 500 of a possible 680 points. Points are awarded when students complete one of the listed spiritual disciplines and report it to their small group leader. This serves as a great discipleship opportunity for small group leaders to encourage their students and help keep the heart of the matter on track.

Points available for each category are available as listed below.

To receive the incentives from Word of Life, 240 of the 500 points must come from attendance at our Wednesday programming and from participation in a daily Word of Life Quiet Time. Students are free to use either the Word of Life Quiet Time With Commentary, the Word of Life Interactive Quiet Time, or the Word of Life Online Quiet Time

Note: For Scripture Memory, students must learn verses from the 20 approved topical verse sheets.

For a checklist you can use to follow your student's progress you can click this link. Also, there is a list of ideas for service projects!

If your student is planning on pursuing completion of the Creative Discipleship Challenge this year we would love to know about it! We want to come alongside your child and encourage them along the way! Please feel free to contact Pastor Josiah (josiah@fbcnpr.com) with any questions you have about the Creative Discipleship Challenge!
