Lesson Summary -

Today’s lesson was the fourth of a four-part series called That’s Him! God’s More Than You Think. In this series, we have been discussing some of the different attributes of God.

Have you ever heard your student say, “That’s so dumb!” Most of the time, they use that statement when they don’t understand something. Their desire to understand is good, but their expression of frustration usually has an attitude attached to it. The goal of this lesson was to point your student to God’s wisdom and encourage them to ask God for wisdom when they don’t understand something.

God is all-knowing, and He understands every part of their life. Because God is good and wise, He only wants what is best for them, even when things don’t make sense to them. We emphasized the fact that the way of wisdom is submitting to God’s way and encouraged the students to trust God’s wisdom. We explained how God’s wisdom flows through authority, and the wise thing for them to do is submit to the authority God placed over them. Prayerfully, you’ll notice a change in their reaction to your authority as they seek God’s wisdom this week.

Do you know of any tough decisions your student needs to make? Are you familiar with any relationship problems or frustrations they are experiencing? Any difficult situations with a coach, teacher, or friend? Ask your student some probing questions and offer to pray with them for God to give them wisdom. Don’t offer your advice just yet. Just pray with them and trust God to give them the wisdom to make the right decision. Follow up in a few days and then offer your advice if they’re still stuck in the situation.

Right now, spend a few minutes praying for God to give each of your students wisdom. Make this a priority each day during your prayer time with the Lord.
