Lesson Summary -

Today’s lesson was the second of a four-part series called That’s Him! God Is More Than You Think. In this series, we are discussing some of the different attributes of God. In this specific lesson, we attempted to explain God’s justice and righteousness even though the world is full of injustice and unfairness. We highlighted the fact that God’s justice is always fair justice.

Describing God as “righteous” means He always does what is right. His justice and righteousness are inseparable from each other. To say that God is just is to say that He is upright. God will always do what is right which means God will always do what is fair.

We tried to help the students understand that the injustice in this world is a result of the selfish and wicked choices of man. Specifically, we said that the injustice in this world is not because God is unjust; it’s because people are evil and wicked.

God gave mankind free will, and unfortunately, many choose to take advantage of others. However, God will ultimately bring His righteous justice to this world. For now, we need to be involved in defending those who are victims of injustice. At dinner sometime this week, talk about the injustices in this world and ask which ones interest your student. Then, see if there’s a ministry in your area that would allow you as a family to get involved in serving.
