Parent Connection - God's Not Uncaring

 

Objective - Students will learn that God is compassionate and will be encouraged to express appreciation for His mercy and grace.


Key Scripture - Ephesians 2:4 "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us."


Key Thought - God’s compassion is expressed by His mercy and grace. 


Lesson Summary - 

Today’s lesson was the third of a four-part series called, That’s Him! God’s More Than You Think. In this series, we have been discussing some of the different attributes of God. 

In this specific lesson, we emphasized God’s compassion. We taught the students that God’s compassion is expressed by His mercy and grace and made sure they understood what both mercy and grace mean. We assured the students that God cares about them even when they don’t feel like He does. 

We also acknowledged that there are times when students question if anyone cares about them. Some may feel that way about their parents, wondering if they really care about them. Many times, they feel this way because they feel unheard or misunderstood. 

As a parent, take the time to evaluate your relationship with your teen. Do you listen to your teen? Do you take time to hear what they are saying and seek to understand them? This week, go on a “date” with your student and take time to really listen to them.

 Hey Parents,  Pastor Josiah here. First, thank you so much to all the parents who made it out to our Year-in-Focus Meeting yesterday! I think it was a valuable time for those in attendance but I know for various reasons some of you had to miss it.   Hey Parents,  I hope all of you students have made their way back into the rhythm of the school year well! Thank you so much for allowing your student to participate in our events designed to start this year off right. Whether it was Kick Ball, Year in Focus Meeting, our Pool Party, Soft Launch or Kick Off we have had a blast jumping into the new year with your students.  I just wanted to send a quick message letting you know about a few things on the horizon as we move into our first "normal week" of the new ESM school year.
