Heart Attack - Spiritual Arrythmia

Objective - Students will learn ingratitude is a negative attitude and will be challenged to give God praise.

Key Scripture - Luke 17:15-16 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

Summary - This lesson was the third lesson in a four-part series called Heart Attack: Don’t Let Your Attitudes Harm You. In this series, we are dealing with heart attitudes. In this lesson, we dealt with another heart attitude, the attitude of ingratitude.

In Luke 17, we studied the story of ten lepers who received healing from Jesus. Only one of the ten lepers turned back to express gratitude to Jesus. This one leper made a deliberate choice to express his gratitude. We helped your student understand that gratitude is a heart attitude expressing praise.

The lesson was called “Spiritual Arrhythmia” because having a complaining attitude is out of rhythm with God’s heartbeat. We then challenged the students to show gratitude to those in their lives who love them and care for them.

As a parent, are you grateful for your student? You probably are, but when was the last time you told them how proud you are of them and how grateful you are for them? What’s keeping you from writing them a nice card or sending them a nice text? Why not do it now?
