The Model of a Women - Parent Connection
Objective - Students will learn the biblical characteristics
of a godly woman and will be challenged to develop a biblical worldview of
femininity.
Key Scripture - Genesis
1:26-27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our
likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing
that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of
God He created him; male and female He created them.
Lesson Summary - Tonight’s lesson was the fourth lesson in a
four-part series called Made: In the Image of God. In this lesson, we focused
on God’s view of women and how a godly woman lives. We discussed that men and
women are created in the image of God and are equal, but not superior, to each
other. Ultimately, we reminded the ladies that it is God Who determines their
worth.
We specifically challenged the guys to make sure that their
view of women is not driven by culture but determined by the Creator. We
reminded the ladies that their value is determined by God and challenged them
to value themselves for how they were designed.
We specifically challenged your student to pay attention to
the media (movies and videos) that they watch this week to see if they can
identify places where the biblical concept of femininity is being distorted.
Make yourself available to your student and discuss the various messages
portrayed in our culture that distort biblical womanhood. If you have boys,
challenge them to adopt God’s view of women as their view of women. If you have
girls, challenge them to recognize the value that God has given them and
determine to live in a way that brings glory to God.
