Worship Unfiltered - Parent Connection

Objective - Willingly
worship the One Who is worthy.
Summary - Today's lesson was the third lesson in a
four-part series called #NoFilter: Keeping It Real. This series
focuses on the basics of how to live the Christian life and how our lives can
clearly and boldly demonstrate our relationship with Jesus. One
way to keep it real in the Christian life is to sincerely worship God. No
pretense. No phony religious rituals, but simple and sincere worship. So, our
lesson tonight focused on the idea of unfiltered worship.
We defined “worship” as “any action or attitude that
expresses praise, love, and appreciation for God,” and your students learned
this truth: worship is about expressing God’s worth. When we don’t truly
understand God’s worth, we won’t really value Him. When we don’t really value
Him, our actions and attitudes will not express true
worship. We can never truly worship God until we understand and
value His worth.
So, before we gave the students different ideas of how to
worship God, we focused on developing an understanding of why we
should express “praise, love, and appreciation for God.” We gave the students a
glimpse of God’s value and worth by studying Isaiah 6. Then, we encouraged them
to find creative ways to worship God this week.
Ask your student what specific ways they plan on worshiping
God this week and see if you can join them in that worship style.
