Made to Magnify - Parent Connection
Objective - Students will understand that they were made on purpose by God to glorify Him and will discover how to magnify Him in whatever they do.
Key Scripture - Isaiah 43:7 “Everyone who is called by
My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made
him.”
Key Thought - We were made to
magnify our Maker.
Lesson Summary – Today’s lesson was the second lesson in
a four-part series called Made: In the Image of God. The goal of this
lesson is for students to understand that human beings were, first of all, made,
and they were made to magnify their Maker.
Just like things
that are designed have a designer, we too have a Designer. The students learned
that they weren’t created by accident or happenstance, but they were fearfully
and wonderfully made by God. Specifically, we used the example of the world’s largest
LEGO set. The replica of the London Tower bridge took 5.8 million LEGO bricks
but certainly didn’t assemble itself. It was designed and constructed on
purpose.
Your student
learned they were created by God to show His glory to the world. We are to represent
God wherever we go and in whatever we do. We should make it a habit to magnify
Him in our home, school, community, and church in whatever we do, both big and
small. Your student was challenged to make a point to purposely magnify their
Maker in one way this week.
As a way to keep
this truth in front of your student this week, each day when your student gets
out of bed ask them, “How can we magnify our Maker today?” Then, join with them
in magnifying God together.
