Lesson Summary

This lesson was the fourth in a four-part series called, The Hunt: Discovering the Treasure of God’s Word. Tonight’s lesson discussed the importance of having a strategy for growing in our knowledge and application of God’s Word.

Your student was challenged to create their strategy for finding the treasures of Scripture by either hearing God’s Word, meditating on it, studying it, or memorizing it. However, if we know all there is to know about the Bible, but we have not applied it, we have no advantage.

Your student was challenged to choose one of the four excavating strategies—hearing, meditating, studying, or memorizing—and develop a strategy with their small group leader for improving in that area this week. You could help solidify this message with them by talking with them about the principles they learned in the lesson. Ask them about each of the four strategies and which one they would like to work on this week. You could choose one of those areas as well to help you dig into God’s Word and embrace it this week. You and your student could hold each other accountable with your strategies this week.
