Somebody's Been Here - Parent Connection
Objective – Students will learn that the intricate
design and complexity in the world point to the existence of a Designer and be
challenged to stand in awe of God’s creation.
Key Scripture –
Romans 1:18-20
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in
unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God
has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even
His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
Key Thought –
“Design suggests a Designer.”
Lesson Summary –
This week, we began a new four-part series called Evidence:
Building a Case for the Existence of God. In this lesson, your student learned
two arguments for the existence of God. First, the fact that the universe has a
cause, points to God. Second, the intricate design and complexity of our world
suggests a Designer.
Your student was challenged to talk to other believers about
their doubts about God’s existence and to stand in awe of God’s creation. Here
are some ways to connect with your student over this lesson:
·
Consider reading Psalm 19:1-6 in an outdoor
setting two or three times this week. Reflect on God’s awesome creation and
spend time praising Him for it; perhaps you can even plan a time to read Psalm
19:1-6 outside with your student.
·
Talk to your student about what things in the
natural world have impressed you as pointing to a Creator.
·
Challenge them to explore any doubts they may
have about God and commit to being open to helping them with their questions.
