Forensic Evidence for God - Parent Connection

Objective – Students will learn that the existence of conscience, morality, and beauty points to the existence of God and will be challenged to respond to God's promptings through their conscience and the Holy Spirit.

Key Scripture –

Romans 2:14-15

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them.

Key Thought –

“Morals and beauty point to a Maker.”

Lesson Summary –

In our current four-part series, Evidence: Building a Case for the Existence of God, we are looking at the question, “Does God exist?” In tonight’s lesson, your student learned that our consciences and intuitive sense of right and wrong point to the existence of God. Your student was challenged to ask the Holy Spirit to guide them as they reflect God’s design and were challenged to pay attention to their conscience and commit to following what is right.

Your student also learned that our enjoyment of and longing to create beauty points to a Maker. They were challenged to reflect God’s beauty back to Him through their own creative efforts.

This week, try talking to your student about discerning the difference between right and wrong. Perhaps you could share a story about a time when you chose what was right because your conscience prompted you that way. Encourage your student in any positive creative endeavors they may have.
