Lesson Summary –
Today's lesson
was the first lesson of a four-part series called The Hunt: Discovering the
Treasure of God’s Word. In this series, we are viewing God’s Word as a
treasure map that leads us to the greatest treasures of life. Like any treasure
hunter, we must start our journey to this treasure by establishing the
reliability and accuracy of our map.
In this lesson,
your student learned about the reliability of the Bible.
●
First,
we demonstrated that we can trust the Bible because it has been tried through
time and by haters yet has thrived.
●
Second,
we said that we can trust that the Bible is true based on the fact that God
Himself is the Source. As God, He cannot make mistakes, change, or lie so His
Word must be reliably accurate. We also see this through the supernatural
evidence within the Bible, such as fulfilled prophecies.
●
We
concluded that the Bible is not only accurate and reliable, but it has been
given to us for our benefit.
Your student was
challenged to memorize Psalm 119:160 this week. They were also told to find an
accountability partner to help them with this. They should be talking with
their accountability partner this week to quote the verse to each other. You
could help with this by memorizing Psalm 119:160 as well. You could challenge
them to see who can learn it the fastest. You can offer to buy them a candy bar
or take them to lunch if they can quote the verse from memory a couple of times
this week.
