Spiritual growth is made when warnings are obeyed.

Lesson Summary

Today’s lesson was the first lesson of a four-part series called Road Trip - Destination: Holiness. In this series, we have been taking a road trip of sorts that is guided by the Word of God. Since our intended destination is holiness, this road trip will not end when the lessons are finished but is intended to get the students on the right path.

In this first lesson, we discussed some warning signs found in the Book of 2 Peter. The Apostle Peter warned us of false teachers who will twist and distort the Word of God. His advice, along with all of Scripture, is to grow more spiritually mature.

Your student was challenged to grow in their walk with Christ. They took a few minutes to evaluate where they are in their relationship with Christ. Then they were encouraged to pray and ask God to show them where they need to change.

Your student was challenged to grow in three areas: in moral purity (personal holiness), in their stand for truth (knowing the Bible), and in growing in grace and knowledge of Jesus (relationship with Christ). Ask your student which warning sign stood out to them the most, and then ask what they plan on doing this week to obey one of God’s warnings.
