The Missing Peace - Parent Connection

Objective - Students will understand biblical salvation and will be challenged to trust Christ as their Savior and share that truth with their friends.

Key Scripture - Romans 5:1 – “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Key Thought - Jesus gives the peace you are missing.

Lesson Summary - Today's lesson was the first lesson in a four-part series called Game Plan: A Strategy for Spiritual Growth. The goal of this series is to help students understand the need for them to exercise the spiritual disciplines necessary to function as a strong Christian in the game of life.

In this lesson, we discussed how to have peace with God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Specifically, we learn three truths: the truth about us, the truth about God, and the truth about forgiveness.

  • The truth about us is we all miss the mark and all are missing peace with God.
  • The truth about God is that He is both just and loving. His justice requires punishment for sin, but in love, He sent Jesus to pay the price for sin that we deserve.
  • The truth about forgiveness is that it is available because of Jesus, it is free for all, and is accepted by faith. Being forgiven by God brings the peace we are missing—peace with God.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven and our lives are made new in Him. Students who did not have a relationship with Jesus Christ were given the chance to believe in Jesus for salvation. Students who are believers were challenged to tell someone how they can find peace with God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Take the time this week to ask your student what truths they learned from this lesson. If you would like more information about how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, contact us here at the church. We would be happy to show you from the Bible how peace with God is possible.
