A Story Worth Telling

Objective - Students will see that their salvation story is a powerful tool in sharing the Gospel and will be encouraged to clearly write it out and share it.

Key Scripture - 1 Peter 3:15

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."

Key Thought - A life worth saving is a story worth telling.

Lesson Summary - Today’s lesson was part of a four-lesson series called “The Basics: Simple Truth for Christian Living.” The four topics in this series discuss four basic truths for every follower of Christ. Tonight, we helped the students learn not only how to share their personal testimony and why they should but challenged them to actually share their salvation story with someone this week.

Before they share their story, we encouraged the students to take time this week to write their salvation story using a Salvation Story Worksheet. We provided a worksheet to guide them through the outline that we followed in the lesson. We also challenged them to pray for God to give them an opportunity to share their story with someone this week.

Offer to practice with your student by asking them to share their salvation story with you, and you share your story with them. If you don’t have a salvation story and would like to know more about how to have a relationship with God, please contact us here at the church. We would love to show you what the Bible says about how to have forgiveness of sin and a relationship with God
