Full Circle: Prayer
Hopefully, you also have composed a list of
friends and relatives who should be in your personal Cause Circle. If so, we would be happy to get a copy of your
student’s handout for you to use as you pray. Please contact one of the leaders
and we will be sure to get one to you.
Objective: Students will understand that prayer lays the foundation for your
outreach efforts and be challenged to talk to God about people before they talk
to people about God.
Key Scriptures: Luke 5:15-16; 1 Timothy 2:1-6
Key Thought: Talk to God about people, before you talk to people about God.
Lesson Summary: Jesus placed a high value on prayer. Throughout the Gospels we read
about the Lord spending much time in prayer to His Father in Heaven. Prayer
energized and empowered Jesus to meet the needs of the many people He
encountered. If Jesus talked to God about people before he talked to people
about God, should we not do the same?
In this week’s lesson, we began unpacking
the first of three elements in The Cause
Circle, Prayer. Last week, the students identified, by name, those friends
and relatives they knew needed Jesus. This week’s goal was to motivate the
students to begin praying regularly and specifically for those in their Cause Circle.
Each student was given a copy of “How to
Pray for your Friends who Need Jesus,” to aid them as they begin praying
intentionally for their friends. Ask your student to show it to you.
