Parent Connection 12.4.2019
Objective: Students will recognize areas of stress in
their lives and commit to drawing closer to God to find relief.
Key Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7
Key Thought:
Peace is possible.
Lesson Summary: Tonight’s lesson is the first of a four-part
series called “Deal With It: A Biblical
Approach to Tough Topics.” This series, as you could guess, is designed to
help students discover a biblical approach to some rather difficult topics.
Stress was the first topic in our series. What does the Bible have to say about
stress? Is it possible, in the middle of our stressful world to have peace?
Yes, peace is
possible and tonight we discovered how it is possible to find peace. The Bible
tells us to talk to God and to come to God when we are in stressful situations.
Talking to God in prayer is one thing but coming to God demonstrates great
trust. He has promised us that His burden is light.
At the end of
the lesson, your student was challenged to write down one area of stress in his/her
life. After writing it down, he/she was asked to craft a prayer and figure out
a time when he/she will get alone with God this week to talk to Him about the
thing that is causing the most stress.
Make a point to
pray for your student this week as he/she focuses on finding peace that is
possible in Jesus Christ.
