PATIENT FAITH

Objective: Students will learn God is in control and choose to wait on His timing.


Key Scripture: Psalm 37:7


Key Thought: God is so great; I can trust Him and wait.


Lesson Summary: Today we began a series called “The Dreamer: Joseph’s Life of Faith.” As we looked at the difficulties of the life of Joseph, your student was challenged to patiently trust the sovereign God. We discussed the reality of personal trials and difficulties and encouraged your student to demonstrate patient faith.


We challenged your student to read Psalm 37:7 each day as soon as he/she wakes up. Perhaps you can meditate on this passage as well. Use this verse as a way to begin a discussion with your student to learn what difficulties they may be facing. Take the opportunity to encourage and even pray with your student. Let him/her know that you will be reading Psalm 37:7 each day as well.

Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 20

Dear Parents, This week in The Thread study, we looked at a new perspective. While we know that God’s grace is the only solution for our sin, it is important that we recognize God desires our obedience. In this lesson, titled “The Rise and Fall of Solomon,” students looked at God’s covenant with Solomon. Just as with generations before him, Solomon learned that God disciplines us when we are disobedient. By comparing Solomon’s story with the words of Jesus, students clearly saw that throughout time God has singularly desired our whole heart! We looked at the following Scripture passages: 1 Kings 1:28-30; 3:4-15; 9:1-9; 11:1-13 John 14:23-24 While the whole story of Solomon is fascinating, these passages will help you see the highlights that were studied.   Hey Parents! Thanks to our partnership with Word of Life we are excited to announce that students will again be invited to participate in our Creative Discipleship Challenge (CDC) this year.  Those who complete the CDC are awarded the following: A Free Word of Life Camping Experience A Free Tickey to a night of Reverb with WOL the following year  Scholarship to Various Christian Universities (for details click here ) We love this challenge because it provides a great structure to encourage students in the spiritual disciplines God encourages all of his children to grow in. 1 Timothy 4:7 says, "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” We want to champion students getting serious about that journey.  The goal is to focus students to develop habits of spiritual discipline in two key areas, growing their faith and sharing their faith.
