actively worship God.

Lesson Summary: Our lesson tonight is part of a four-week series on Christian basics. The series is called “simple: basic truth for a complicated world.” Each of the lessons in this series deals with a simple truth that every follower of Jesus should understand. The lesson tonight was about worship.

Following the story of the woman at the well in Samaria in John 4:16-24, we asked three questions: “What is worship?” “Who should be worshipped?” and “How should we worship?” Your student learned that God, and God alone, is worthy of worship. “Worship” is “any action or attitude that expresses praise, love, and appreciation for God.” Worship is not just listening to or singing special songs or merely attending church; it is a complete lifestyle. Your child was challenged to come up with one unique way to worship God this week. We talked about how God deserves their best, not the rest. In his/her small group, he/she was asked to share his/her plan for worshiping God. Ask your child how he/she plans to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) this week. Remind them that now is the time to worship; now.
