Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 47

Dear Parents,
We’re on the home stretch of The Thread, in which we’ve examined how the Gospel ties together the entire Bible, from beginning to end.
This week, our lesson, A Letter from Peter, was about God’s purpose in calling together His church. We clearly saw from 1 Peter that the purpose of God’s people is to tell about His greatness. We also said that every one of us has influence; the question is whether we are using that influence to point people to Jesus or to push them away from Jesus.
We looked at the following Scripture passages:
       1 Peter 2:4-14
       Matthew 5:13-16

Check them out so that you can understand exactly what we discussed and so you can be encouraged about your life’s purpose.

Next Steps . . .
During the week set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:
What is influence? How do we gain it?
What does it mean that everyone has influence? Where are some areas that you feel like you have influence? How are you using that influence?
What would happen if our entire church began to use their influence in order to point people to Jesus? What would happen if our family used our influence to point people to Jesus?

Thanks again for walking with us on this journey through the Bible. If you have any questions about anything, I’m available, please give me a call.
