Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 37

Dear Parents,
Hello again! We’re having a great time studying The Thread in our group. The big picture of the Bible is really coming together for us, and each week we are learning more about Jesus as the central character.

This week, the lesson was entitled, “Jesus’ Arrest and Trial.” We discussed how Jesus willingly laid down His life for us according to God’s plan. We spent some time considering how that unbelievable truth affects our lives.

We looked at the following Scripture passages:
·        Matthew 26:36-56
·        Matthew 27:11-26
·        Isaiah 53:7-9

I encourage you to read these passages, so you can see how God was at work behind the scenes of Jesus’ arrest and trial.

Next Steps . . .
During the week, set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:
·   How was God at work behind the scenes of Jesus’ arrest and trail? Is it possible for God to be at work behind the scenes during difficult times in our lives?
·   How does knowing that Jesus willingly laid down His life for you make you feel?
·   Jesus experienced extreme sorrow in the Garden of Gethsemane. Do you think He understands when we experience sorrow? Why is that significant?

I hope this resource is a useful tool for you and your student. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me.
