Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 34

Lesson 34
Dear Parents,
Hello again! We’re already in week 34 of our year-long look at the big-picture story of the Bible called The Thread. It has been a great journey so far and I really hope your child has learned a lot and has enjoyed seeing how the Bible fits together as one big story.
This week, the lesson was entitled “The Parable of the Prodigal Son,” and it focused on helping students understand that the Prodigal Son is a parable that demonstrates the great love and joy Jesus has for those who return “home” to Him.

We looked at the following Scripture passages:
  • Luke 15:11-32

You’ll enjoy reading these powerful passages that demonstrate God’s love for His lost children.

Next Steps . . .
During the week set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:
·         Is it hard for you to imagine God valuing you and loving you the way the parable of the prodigal son demonstrates? If so, why?
·         Is it hard for you to view and value people the same way God does? If so, why?
·         How can we as a family do a better job of valuing both groups of people discussed in the parable, the reckless and the self-righteous?

I hope this resource is a useful tool for you and your student. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me.
