Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 31

Dear Parents,
Hello again! We’re continuing in our study of The Thread, looking at the Gospel story throughout the entire Bible. This week’s lesson was a really awesome time of fellowship and conversation. I hope your child enjoyed it.
This week, the lesson was entitled “Jesus Heals a Paralytic,” and it focused on helping students understand that Jesus not only has the power to heal, but also the power to forgive sins. Your student was taught that we were dead in our sins, but God chose to give us life through Jesus’ death on the cross. They were challenged to express thanks and praise to God for bringing them from death to life.
We looked at the following Scripture passages:
  • Mark 2:1-12
  • Colossians 2:13-14

You’ll enjoy reading these powerful passages that tell the story of Jesus healing the paralytic, and the fact that Jesus brings us from death to life in the gospel.

Next Steps . . .
During the week, set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:
·         What was important about Jesus addressing the paralytic’s spiritual and physical condition? What did Jesus demonstrate about Himself that’s important for us to understand today?
·         Why is it so easy for us to take what Jesus has done for us for granted?
·         What are some ways our family can work to not take it for granted?

I hope this resource is a useful tool for you and your student. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me.
