Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 24


Dear Parents,
Hello again! We’re already on week 24 in The Thread, our year-long look at the big-picture story of the Bible. We had a great time hanging out and studying God’s word. I hope your child enjoyed it.
This week, the lesson was entitled “Daniel in Exile.” And while we learned about Daniel’s life in exile, we ultimately focused on understanding how perfect, lasting deliverance comes through Christ’s death on the cross. 
We looked at the following Scripture passages:
  • Daniel 1
  • Daniel 6
·         Colossians 1:11-14

You’ll love reading this passages and seeing how ultimate deliverance comes through Jesus Christ.

Next Steps . . .
During the week set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:
·         What did you think about some of the situations Daniel found himself in? How would you have reacted to them? What made Daniel react the way he did?
·         How does Daniel’s great faithfulness point to the even greater faithfulness of the Lord? Why is it important for us to not just focus on Daniel, but focus on the God that Daniel served?
·         How can we live more and more like people that have experienced lasting and ultimate rescue? How does that truth impact our family?

Elevate Sunday Follow Up - Lesson 20

Dear Parents, This week in The Thread study, we looked at a new perspective. While we know that God’s grace is the only solution for our sin, it is important that we recognize God desires our obedience. In this lesson, titled “The Rise and Fall of Solomon,” students looked at God’s covenant with Solomon. Just as with generations before him, Solomon learned that God disciplines us when we are disobedient. By comparing Solomon’s story with the words of Jesus, students clearly saw that throughout time God has singularly desired our whole heart! We looked at the following Scripture passages: 1 Kings 1:28-30; 3:4-15; 9:1-9; 11:1-13 John 14:23-24 While the whole story of Solomon is fascinating, these passages will help you see the highlights that were studied. Creative Discipleship Challenge Details

  Hey Parents! Thanks to our partnership with Word of Life we are excited to announce that students will again be invited to participate in our Creative Discipleship Challenge (CDC) this year.  Those who complete the CDC are awarded the following: A Free Word of Life Camping Experience A Free Tickey to a night of Reverb with WOL the following year  Scholarship to Various Christian Universities (for details click here ) We love this challenge because it provides a great structure to encourage students in the spiritual disciplines God encourages all of his children to grow in. 1 Timothy 4:7 says, "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” We want to champion students getting serious about that journey.  The goal is to focus students to develop habits of spiritual discipline in two key areas, growing their faith and sharing their faith.
