Lesson Summary - Today’s lesson was the second lesson in a four-part series called #NoFilter: Keeping It Real. This series focuses on the basics of how to live the Christian life and how our lives can clearly and boldly demonstrate our relationship with Jesus. One way to keep it real in the Christian life is to be a generous person. Since this is true, we specifically focused on what it means to be generous, how the life of Jesus can motivate us to be generous, and how we can take steps to be generous.

Students learned that generous living is more than just financial giving. Generosity is not just about giving but about a mindset. It is not about an amount but about an attitude. By definition, those who are generous don’t just give; they have a readiness or liberality when they give. You don’t have to be financially rich to be generous; generosity can be displayed by even the poorest people.

The students also learned that being generous is a reflection of what Jesus has done for us in giving His life for us. We are not just to love in word only but in deed and in truth.

At the end of the lesson and during small group time, the students discussed different ways to demonstrate generous living. Ask your student what is one way they would like to demonstrate generous living this week and maybe even offer to join them in that endeavor.
